Kate Fitzgerald is only 2 years old when she is diagnosed with an uncommon type of Leukaemia. Her mom Sara desires do to whatever it takes to conserve her child. However isn’t she going too far? This analysis has to do with a remarkable story about a woman who was conceived to spend her life as a donator for her sister. She invests her entire life in hospitals trying to save her sister’s life. However is it all worth it? And does her sis even desire her to do all this? C: 1: Anna, Sara Fitzgerald’s youngest child was developed to contribute bone marrow to her older sis Kate.

They developed an infant that might work as an appropriate donor. This infant was Anna. Anna contributed genetic product throughout her entire life. By doing this, she kept her older sis Kate alive. This is why the book is called: My sister’s keeper.

She was constantly using her body to assist her sibling. She loved her sister and wished to help her. But she didn’t want her whole life to be about conserving Kate. She wanted to have a life of her own. Anna wanted control over her own body. She was having a hard time since she wished to do what’s finest for her sibling. But this made her life unpleasant. Sara Fitzgerald is the mother of Anna and Kate. She is only focused on saving Kate. She does all she can to keep Kate alive. She is represented as a mother who would actually do anything to save her kid.

By doing this, she is not being a good mother to her other two children, Jesse and Anna. When Anna gives Sara the papers about the law suit, Sara doesn’t understand that Anna is doing this because she feels unhappy. She gets angry and doesn’t understand that Anna doesn’t want to donate her kidney to Kate. This quote shows that Sara was only thinking of her baby as a savior for Kate. “Although I am nine months pregnant, although I have had plenty of time to dream, I have not really considered the specifics of this child. I have thought of this daughter only in terms of what she will be able to do for he daughter I already have’ Kate Fitzgerald is Sara’s oldest daughter.

When Kate was two years old she was diagnosed with Leukaemia. She and her sister have a very good relationship. Kate sees that Anna is not happy. Kate herself isn’t happy either. She knows that she will never be cured. Kate decides that she’d rather die than staying ill and go through all the awful procedures which will only prolong her life. She asks her sister Anna to sue her parents. This only becomes clear at the end of the book. Kate is portrayed as a girl who has accepted her disease. She has learned how to live with it. This makes her an amazing character.

Kate is ill and Sara wants to keep her daughter alive. Sara does everything in her power to keep her daughter alive. When it turned out that no one in the family matched to donate bone marrow to Kate. Sara and Brian decide to create a baby that would be a match. While Sara doesn’t hesitate, Brian does. He isn’t sure if this is the right thing to do. The baby they created is named Anna. At a certain moment Anna decides that she wants to have the rights to her own body. She is suing her parents. This causes a huge conflict. Sara doesn’t understand why Anna would do such a thing. Brian on the other hand does.

He talks to Sara but he can’t get through to her. This quote shows what Brian is trying to tell her. ‘She is dying Sara. She will die, either tonight or tomorrow or maybe a year from now if we’re really lucky. You heard what Dr. Chance said. Arsenic’s not a cure. It just postpones what’s coming. ’ Sara will not let her daughter die! Eventually the conflict is resolved. It comes out that it wasn’t Anna’s idea. Sara eventually accepts the fact that Kate wants to die. At the end of the story Kate dies. Sara realizes that it was wrong to only put her focus on Kate. She had two other kids to who she didn’t pay attention. What are the exposition, rising action, climax, and falling action of the story? The rising action starts when Anna decides to file lawsuit against her parents.

At first her parents didn’t take her serious. When eventually the trial begins and Anna tells her parents what she really wants.
